Revive 2010: Day 6

Hebrews 5:7: 7During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
Matthew 26:45: 45Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
John 14:12-14: 12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
---------------------------

Jesus prayed with great fervency. He knew that God is the only One who can make a difference to anything that needed to change, because He is the Almighty. Jesus came before God in humility and love, and with great passion. He came out of a heart that was filled with compassion, not out of obligation or duty.
Abba, we thank You that Jesus prayed with fervency and passion. That He came before You in humility, knowing Your sovereignty and goodness. Lord, release a passion and fervency for prayer like Jesus had as He prayed in the garden. You are the one who loves us, the one who cares about us and who hears our prayers.
Our Hope is in You, Lord. We will wait for Your perfect timing. Thank You that You have a plan for UCSD and for Your children. Father, we will wait for You. Bring Your spirit in power and love and passion as only You can. Open our eyes to what You are doing, that we will not be found sleeping while You are moving and coming in glory.
We trust that as our inheritance as Your children, we can boldly and humbly approach Your throne in confidence that You will hear us and delight in our approach. Thank You that we bear the name of Jesus and have been given the Holy Spirit so we can pray in confidence and authority to drive out darkness and bring forth Your kingdom in the measure You allow.
Lord, give us a heart for the things You care about, knowing that You see our hearts and respond to what is in our hearts. Thank You that it's not about the words we say, but about us letting You come into a situation that only You can take and turn it into what You intend it to be.
Lord, we pray that Your will be done and that we are stewards who know Your heart and who come before You in love and humility, acknowledging Your sovereignty and goodness. We agree with Your plan for UCSD, and we will listen and obey, Lord.
Break down our idols at UCSD, tear down our foundations that are built so solidly upon things that fade away, and as You break them down, rain down Your presence that new life can grow. Thank You for not withholding anything from us, Lord, but allowing us to come into agreement with You and plead with You in full knowledge of Your goodness and power.
In Jesus's name I pray,
Amen
