student revival movement ucsd: day 7

"if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
2 chronicles 7:14

God, i'm asking that you would raise up ones at UCSD who would seek you with all their heart soul strength and mind. i'm asking for you to raise up lovers, worshipers, who have chosen to set their gaze upon you. would you raise up ones at UCSD who will seek after your heart, and desire to see your face over anything else this world has to offer. God, would you raise up ones who will die to themselves for the sake of gaining you. God, raise up ones at UCSD who would choose you above self gratification, above ministry priorities, above the fear of man, and above establishing a good reputation. God, would you raise up ones who would run to the secret place to be with you, ones who would choose to pursue the knowledge of you above anything else.

we humble ourselves before you, God. we recognize our depravity apart from you. God i'm asking for you to come and heal UCSD. as we humble ourselves and draw near to you, we are saying that we need you, and we want more of your Spirit to come and touch hearts. come and do what only you can do.

God, i'm so sick of emotional hype. i'm tired of watching your people love you based on spiritual highs. i'm so sick of watching your people worship you based on emotion and circumstance. God i'm asking for you to revive hearts, that you raise up those that would love you in and out of season.

student revival movement ucsd: day 6

6"Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
7Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
9Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.'
-isaiah 58:6-9

God today i am asking for you to take your people into the heart of true fasting. God i'm asking for your church to know how to love in a real and genuine way. that we would walk the talk, that we would live out the fullness of the gospel of Jesus in our lives. teach us, convict us of the ways that we have become comfortable in our christian bubbles. convict us of the ways we have been too lazy, apathetic, or too fearful to step out in boldness to preach your word, to share the gospel, and the ways we have failed to demonstrate your love to others.

God, i'm asking that you would remove all hypocrisy in church, start with me. God i ask that you would convict hearts of those who have settled for a comfortable christian life. continue to stretch your people, oh God. may we allow ourselves to be stretched, may we be simply obedient to the commands written in your word.

as you revive our hearts, God, teach us what it means to be revival. start with me.

student revival movement ucsd: day 5

15"'I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."
-revelation 2:15-16

God i'm asking that you would awaken hearts at UCSD. God i'm asking for you to stir up a holy dissatisfaction in the hearts of your sons and daughters, ones who have abandoned you as their first love. God i'm asking that those who claim to be christians at UCSD would you enlighten the eyes of hearts, that they would know the depths of your love demonstrated on the cross. God i'm asking for eyes to be opened, that there may be a freshness to the grace demonstrated on the cross, that the message of the gospel would be filled with power and conviction once again.

oh God, would you awaken passion and desire for Jesus once again! would you stir hearts that would run to you in the secret place, to fall on our knees in prayer and to eat your word. God, would you awaken christians at UCSD to help us realize that anything apart from you does not satisfy, that we would become so bored and discontent with all forms of entertainment apart from you.

remind us of our calling, stir up urgency in your people that we would proclaim the gospel with boldness in Jesus' name.

student revival movement ucsd: day 4

"Then he said to me, "Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words."
-daniel 10:12

LORD would you raise up intercessors at UCSD, ones who would humble themselves and seek your face in the place of prayer. God i'm asking that you would open our eyes to our depravity and inability to do anything without you. help us to be aware of our weakness, and cause us to call upon your name once again.

break our hearts for souls around us to the point where we can do nothing but pray. stir in our hearts an urgency and desperation to see your kingdom come, to the point where we realize we cannot do it on our own, and all we can do is fall on our knees and call upon your name.

give us faith, that your people may pray with such fervency, knowing that our prayers shape history. help us to believe that the course of history is determined on our knees in the prayer room. give us faith, God.

student revival movement ucsd: day 3

"But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way."
-daniel 1:8

God i'm asking that you would raise up daniels at UCSD. God i'm asking that you would mark hearts among christians, that you would set apart ones who will seek you with all their heart soul strength and mind. i'm asking for you to raise up in the christian community, ones who will not compromise, ones set apart to pursue a life of holiness and righteousness, ones who do not seek pleasure in the things of this world, nor seek pleasure for themselves for their own gain.
raise up ones who will be emboldened to declare the gospel with power and authority. raise up daniels who will will be abandoned to pursue you in prayer, fasting, and the word, to die to themselves so that they may gain you.
raise up ones who, like paul, know nothing but Christ crucified. daniels who will live life filled with the hope and the revelation of the good news of the gospel. raise up ones who have no fear against the fear of man, ones who fear you more than they fear man. raise up ones who will boldly declare truth and love boldly as you would love.
raise up a new generation of christians, God. raise up lovesick worshippers, harbingers of truth. ones willing to lose it all to gain you.

student revival movement ucsd: day 2

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
--Acts 1:8

we will wait for You. we will wait for you power. we will wait upon You. You are the only solution. you are the only resolution.

Jesus, bring breakthrough at UCSD right now unlike years in the past. bring breakthrough in the hearts of nonchristians. bring breakthrough in the hearts of christians. bring breakthrough in my heart.

Jesus, bring breakthrough. start with me

student revival movement ucsd: day 1

'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
-acts 2:17

just like you promised,
just like you said
pour out Your Spirit

Father today we take our stand for UCSD. over these next 21 days, God we will cry out for one thing--that You would pour out your Holy Spirit. that heaven would invade earth, beginning here at UCSD. that your kingdom would come to UCSD in tangible and historical measures, oh God, let it be! i'm asking for the power your Spirit to manifest and transform lives. i'm asking for lives to be turned upside down, in the students, professors, and administration.

i'm asking for you to release a new movement of Your power, where Christians and non-Christians alike will become awakened with fresh hunger and fresh passion to seek your face, oh God. that you may be glorified and your name praised across UCSD. that every tongue and every soul would confess that you are God, that every person stepping on the campus of UCSD would worship Jesus Christ as LORD. i'm asking that every soul on campus would encounter Your love, and submit their lives to your leadership.

we will keep asking, God.

restore our fortunes, O LORD

the other day in our intervarsity prayer meeting prior to our large group, we began to intercede for the campus, specifically for women, to be set free from issues with self image and sexual brokenness. we began to seek God's heart for His daughters consumed in bondage to trying to sell their bodies because they have no worth, because they do not know who they are nor to Whom they belong to.

the spirit of trevail prayer fell upon a few of us in the room. and they began to weep as we began to feel the pain our Father feels when He sees His daughters chase after broken cisterns--things that do not satisfy; that it pains the Father's heart to the point of tears as He watches His daughters struggle to know their inherent beauty, value, and worth because they do not know that they are daughters of the King Most High.

for the past 4 years of praying for UCSD, i haven't seen as much trevail prayer as i have been seeing this year. i don't believe that there is anything that makes trevail prayer "better" or more "powerful" than tear-free prayer, but i do believe something powerful is unleashed when we tap into God's heart to the point when we are moved to tears. i do believe there is power when our hearts are broken for what breaks God's heart, to the point when we are moved to tears.

LORD, break our hearts for what breaks Yours

i was reminded by the psalm i had read the previous night, His promise not only for Zion, but for UCSD as well.

when the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dream.
then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;

then they said among the nations,
"the LORD has done great things for them."
the LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad.

Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like streams in the Negeb!
those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
he who goes out weeping bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
bringing his sheaves with him.

psalm 126
