Revive 2010: Day 31
59 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant. 60 Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. 61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger. I will give them to you as daughters, but not on the basis of my covenant with you. 62 So I will establish my covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD. 63 Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
-Ezekiel 16:58-63
Father, we come before You today confessing of unfaithfulness to You. We have forsaken You as a campus and as a generation. We have mistreated and abused You. Lord, we recognize Your deep lovingkindness, Your incredible faithfulness, Your delight in mercy, and Your awesome sovereignty. Remind UCSD of Your promise to make atonement for our sins even after our adultery, how You will keep Your promise to save all who call upon Your name.
Lord, release the fear of the Lord upon us once again, that we might come to You knowing the weight of who You are and know Your sovereignty and strength and reality. Father, we understand the gravity that the wages of our sins is death, so we come before You today pleading with You to bring renewal of Your promise to the people of UCSD that we might turn our eyes and ears and hearts back to You.
Revive 2010: Day 30
-John 14:15-21
Father, Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that You have given us a helper, one who will always be with us to give us deep fellowship with You and deep companionship. God, today we pray that You give us a new and deep, transforming touch by the Holy Spirit, knowing that when we are filled by the Holy Spirit both initially and in renewal continually, you give us more of Your love and more revelation by You. So Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill us now with love and power and companionship, as well as a longing and discipline to be obedient to You. Thank You that through this filling of the Holy Spirit, which we can say has happened in faith, You will show us Your heart for the campus and will guide all of our paths for returning hearts to You, revealing Your love and glory, and showing not only us but everyone on campus who You truly are. Soften our hearts and make our spirits more sensitive and patient in waiting upon You and knowing that we never have to operate outside of the presence of You, Lord. Mmm, we love Your presence, Abba. Thank You for capturing our hearts by drawing us in with Your sweet presence, God. Would You release more and more of Your presence all over us and all over UCSD right now, God, and bring a renewal of the presence of the Holy Spirit in us.
In Jesus's name,
Amen
Revive 2010: Day 29
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." 9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."
Revelation 4:2-11
Lord, we thank You that You are beautiful and glorious. We ask now that You would fix our eyes on things above, on the radiance of Your very being. Thank You for the pure joy and love that sets our hearts on fire in worship and praise, like the elders, as we come to discover who You really are.
Abba, we ask to see more of Your glory at UCSD now. We ask that that glory be revealed as we receive greater revelation of who You are. Ruin us to know You more deeply, to cast down all of our crowns: our idols, our lives that we try to preserve, our pride, whatever it is, and see You as You are, in Your radiant and awesome beauty.
Thank You that You do not demand for us to worship You, but You draw us in by Your character and beauty. Lord, open our eyes and ignite our hearts with a new and greater revelation of who You are in truth and power.

revelation 3:20-22
God, we receive your words for the Laodicean church. let your church today be one that is sensitive to your voice, and to what you are doing. God help us realize that your Spirit is waiting to come help us. help us to understand that we cannot "do ministry" as if it was our own project and that you would come alongside to help us, rather that we would come alongside you and the work you are doing on this earth, at UCSD. God, let us not get caught up with ourselves, our agendas and plans, but to set our eyes and ears upon you. let us not get caught up with all the busy "work" at hand, but let us be depending on you, Holy Spirit to be guiding us and leading us.
let us be a people to draw upon your power. let intervarsity be a fellowship that depends on you and you alone--not on our own abilities. give us faith to believe that when we become serious and draw upon your power, you will come. give us the spirit of prophecy, that we would be ones that will lean in close to you to hear what you are saying, and what you desire to be doing. let this year be a year marked by one where your people did not follow their own ministry agendas, but was sensitive to your voice, and listened for your leadership.
as we draw near to you, would you draw near to us. God, as we depend on you, would you show up in even greater measures. we let you in, God. we let you in, Holy Spirit. you are welcome here. come LORD Jesus come.
this year, LORD. not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit. in the name of Jesus amen.

Revelation 3:15-16
Father today i bring before you your church--i bring before you intervarsity--and i'm asking for an awakening to arise in your people. God i'm asking for a holy dissatisfaction to burn among hearts of men and women, that we would be cut to the heart to desire greater intimacy with You and hunger for the knowledge of God. help us not to settle, help us not to be satisfied with where we are at with you. help us to burn with greater yearning fervency to have more of you.
God, help us to live a life where we'd rather die than live a lukewarm life! give us urgency, and stir in our hearts a greater passion for more of you. i'm asking for a spirit of conviction to arise in your church--convict us of the ways we have given you lip service in the place of sacrifice. convict us of the ways we have given you anything short of our all. convict us of the ways we have not given you all our worship, the ways we desire other idols--TV shows, media, popularity in the eyes of man, over you. convict us, God, would we realize how much we have lowered our standards of what we expect from you and how much we depend on you. help us to be a people of the new testament church, ones who called upon your name and where your Spirit came down in power.
God i'm asking for you to revive dead spirits--that spirits dulled by religion and ritual, programs, and our comfort zones would be revived and refreshed by the fresh wind and fresh fire of your Spirit. raise up a people who go to church desiring nothing else but to touch your heart and be touched by you--nothing short.

Jesus Clears the Temple
15 When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”18 When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were so amazed at his teaching.
-mark 11:15-18
Father we thank you for your son Jesus, who reminds us what you spoke through your prophet isaiah:
I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem
and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer.
I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices,
because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.
-isaiah 56:7
Father, as your son Jesus did 2000 years ago, today i come into agreement with your heart and desire, and i am asking that your church at UCSD will once again become first and foremost, a body that prays--that we will be your house of prayer. God i am asking that your church will return back to your original intention and desire. God i'm asking for an aroma to arise from your house once again, one of worship and supplication, a house that calls upon the name of the LORD in desperation.
we thank you for good preaching found in the teaching of your Word, thought-provoking sermons, good speakers, and good music, but God i'm asking that these things will not overshadow your original intent for your house--that your house will remain a place where real heart encounters occur in the place of desperately crying out to you in the place of prayer. God, i'm asking for a genuine need and dependency on you, that we may draw near to you in prayer and touch your heart.
forgive us LORD, for the ways your church has become anything but prayer. forgive us for the ways your temple has become places of showcasing the best worship team, or just a place to run our own ministry programs. forgive us LORD, for the ways your church has failed to remain a place where your people cry out to you in desperation and need for you. forgive us LORD, for the ways church has become anything else other than a place to realize how much we need to depend on you, for you to show up in our lives and in those around us.
without you, LORD, we are nothing. help us to see that statement as no superlative. God, help us to see and realize our need and our depravity without you. help us to realize that we cannot do anything in life, that we cannot live without you. fill us with unction, with fervency, with burning desire to cry out to you in the place of prayer, for the sake of a revival in our own soul and for those around us. come Holy Spirit, send revival to UCSD.

psalm 85
Revive Us Again
1 Lord, you poured out blessings on your land!
You restored the fortunes of Israel.
2 You forgave the guilt of your people—
yes, you covered all their sins.
3 You held back your fury.
You kept back your blazing anger.
4 Now restore us again, O God of our salvation.
Put aside your anger against us once more.
5 Will you be angry with us always?
Will you prolong your wrath to all generations?
6 Won’t you revive us again,
so your people can rejoice in you?
7 Show us your unfailing love, O Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
8 I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying,
for he speaks peace to his faithful people.
But let them not return to their foolish ways.
9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
so our land will be filled with his glory.
10 Unfailing love and truth have met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed!
11 Truth springs up from the earth,
and righteousness smiles down from heaven.
12 Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings.
Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.
13 Righteousness goes as a herald before him,
preparing the way for his steps.
