student revival movement ucsd: day 18
matthew 16:24-25
God i'm asking for you to raise up ones at UCSD who will follow you at whatever the cost. would you raise up men and women at UCSD who will follow you in wholehearted abandonment, that they would not put themselves or their own comfort before you, God. God would you raise up ones who are empowered with boldness, ones that would preach your word and share your love free from the fear of man. would you raise up ones who would take a stand for you, unafraid to proclaim your name boldly on this campus.
God would you raise up ones at UCSD who are willing to lose it all to have you.

john 15:12-17
God, would you teach us what love is. would we be reminded that your command for us is to love others just as you have love us. teach us what love is, God. thank you for sending your son Jesus to be the perfect example of love. let us be stewards of Jesus, as we study how He loved those around Him. let us learn how to love with a love that is bold, direct, and filled with truth, yet tender and gentle.
teach me, oh LORD, how to love.

student revival movement ucsd: day 15
Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit!
2From your presence let my vindication come!
Let your eyes behold the right!
3You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night,
you have tested me, and you will find nothing;
I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
4With regard to the works of man, by the word of your lips
I have avoided the ways of the violent.
5My steps have held fast to your paths;
my feet have not slipped.
6I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me; hear my words.
7Wondrously show your steadfast love,
O Savior of those who seek refuge
from their adversaries at your right hand.
8Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings,
9from the wicked who do me violence,
my deadly enemies who surround me.

student revival movement ucsd: day 12
1 corinth 12:12-14
God today i'm asking for unity among fellowships at UCSD. would your church sense the need to unite as one body, that we may set aside our cultural and denominational differences and seek one thing and that is Jesus. give us a spirit of humility, that we would not think of ourselves as better than another, that we may not carry a self-righteous spirit, or love our programs and ministry agendas more than loving what you want to do.
speak to your church, God, that your church and fellowships at UCSD would respond to your desires for this campus. that fellowships at UCSD would submit under your leadership and what you want to do in establishing your kingdom at UCSD.

student revival movement ucsd: day 11
luke 19:45-46
God remind your people of the importance of prayer. God, i'm asking that you would restore prayer in the church. God, would you raise up those who are gifted in prayer and intercession to influence and lead a movement of prayer on this campus. God would you teach your church how to pray. God, would you establish a culture of prayer on this campus.
God, would you raise up intercessors, prayer ministers, those who would spend their lives contending for spiritual breakthrough on this campus. show us how to make prayer relevant and urgent. teach us how to depend more and more on you. would you remove anything and everything that distracts us from praying. LORD, would you have the freedom to shake everything that can be shaken, that we may become desperate to do nothing else but to pray.

student revival movement ucsd: day 10
1 corinth 12:12-13
God i'm asking that you would unite your church. God i'm asking that your church, one united under on Spirit, would humble herself, set aside her differences, and strive to love one another as is your desire. God i pray against all divisions among your church, by theology, denomination, cultural, or experiential background. God would no one in your church think of themselves better than others! open our eyes to work together in love and unity, in the preaching of the gospel, in the advancing of your kingdom on earth.
oh God, that your church would learn to love one another!
~~~
God, i'm asking again, send a spirit of revival to UCSD today. awaken your church to be a people of psalm 27:4, that your church at UCSD would be one of one thing: to behold your glory, your presence, your face above anything else. removed DISTRACTIONS from your church. burn away anything and everything that has taken the place of beholding your beauty first and foremost. shake everything in our lives that has taken our eyes off of you. give us a yearning, a groaning, a hunger, a desire, a passion to see your glory fall in our lives. let us not rest until we taste and experience your glory in our own lives. let us not rest until that glory goes before us to the ends of UCSD, to the ends of the world. let us persevere and run into the secret place, that we may wait upon you until your glory falls.
2 chronicles 7:14
God, i'm asking that you would raise up ones at UCSD who would seek you with all their heart soul strength and mind. i'm asking for you to raise up lovers, worshipers, who have chosen to set their gaze upon you. would you raise up ones at UCSD who will seek after your heart, and desire to see your face over anything else this world has to offer. God, would you raise up ones who will die to themselves for the sake of gaining you. God, raise up ones at UCSD who would choose you above self gratification, above ministry priorities, above the fear of man, and above establishing a good reputation. God, would you raise up ones who would run to the secret place to be with you, ones who would choose to pursue the knowledge of you above anything else.
we humble ourselves before you, God. we recognize our depravity apart from you. God i'm asking for you to come and heal UCSD. as we humble ourselves and draw near to you, we are saying that we need you, and we want more of your Spirit to come and touch hearts. come and do what only you can do.
God, i'm so sick of emotional hype. i'm tired of watching your people love you based on spiritual highs. i'm so sick of watching your people worship you based on emotion and circumstance. God i'm asking for you to revive hearts, that you raise up those that would love you in and out of season.
student revival movement ucsd: day 6
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
7Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
8Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you;
the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
9Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.'
-isaiah 58:6-9
God today i am asking for you to take your people into the heart of true fasting. God i'm asking for your church to know how to love in a real and genuine way. that we would walk the talk, that we would live out the fullness of the gospel of Jesus in our lives. teach us, convict us of the ways that we have become comfortable in our christian bubbles. convict us of the ways we have been too lazy, apathetic, or too fearful to step out in boldness to preach your word, to share the gospel, and the ways we have failed to demonstrate your love to others.
God, i'm asking that you would remove all hypocrisy in church, start with me. God i ask that you would convict hearts of those who have settled for a comfortable christian life. continue to stretch your people, oh God. may we allow ourselves to be stretched, may we be simply obedient to the commands written in your word.
as you revive our hearts, God, teach us what it means to be revival. start with me.
student revival movement ucsd: day 5
-revelation 2:15-16
God i'm asking that you would awaken hearts at UCSD. God i'm asking for you to stir up a holy dissatisfaction in the hearts of your sons and daughters, ones who have abandoned you as their first love. God i'm asking that those who claim to be christians at UCSD would you enlighten the eyes of hearts, that they would know the depths of your love demonstrated on the cross. God i'm asking for eyes to be opened, that there may be a freshness to the grace demonstrated on the cross, that the message of the gospel would be filled with power and conviction once again.
oh God, would you awaken passion and desire for Jesus once again! would you stir hearts that would run to you in the secret place, to fall on our knees in prayer and to eat your word. God, would you awaken christians at UCSD to help us realize that anything apart from you does not satisfy, that we would become so bored and discontent with all forms of entertainment apart from you.
remind us of our calling, stir up urgency in your people that we would proclaim the gospel with boldness in Jesus' name.
-daniel 10:12
LORD would you raise up intercessors at UCSD, ones who would humble themselves and seek your face in the place of prayer. God i'm asking that you would open our eyes to our depravity and inability to do anything without you. help us to be aware of our weakness, and cause us to call upon your name once again.
break our hearts for souls around us to the point where we can do nothing but pray. stir in our hearts an urgency and desperation to see your kingdom come, to the point where we realize we cannot do it on our own, and all we can do is fall on our knees and call upon your name.
give us faith, that your people may pray with such fervency, knowing that our prayers shape history. help us to believe that the course of history is determined on our knees in the prayer room. give us faith, God.
-daniel 1:8
God i'm asking that you would raise up daniels at UCSD. God i'm asking that you would mark hearts among christians, that you would set apart ones who will seek you with all their heart soul strength and mind. i'm asking for you to raise up in the christian community, ones who will not compromise, ones set apart to pursue a life of holiness and righteousness, ones who do not seek pleasure in the things of this world, nor seek pleasure for themselves for their own gain.
raise up ones who will be emboldened to declare the gospel with power and authority. raise up daniels who will will be abandoned to pursue you in prayer, fasting, and the word, to die to themselves so that they may gain you.
raise up ones who, like paul, know nothing but Christ crucified. daniels who will live life filled with the hope and the revelation of the good news of the gospel. raise up ones who have no fear against the fear of man, ones who fear you more than they fear man. raise up ones who will boldly declare truth and love boldly as you would love.
raise up a new generation of christians, God. raise up lovesick worshippers, harbingers of truth. ones willing to lose it all to gain you.
we will wait for You. we will wait for you power. we will wait upon You. You are the only solution. you are the only resolution.
Jesus, bring breakthrough. start with me
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
-acts 2:17
just like you promised,
just like you said
pour out Your Spirit
Father today we take our stand for UCSD. over these next 21 days, God we will cry out for one thing--that You would pour out your Holy Spirit. that heaven would invade earth, beginning here at UCSD. that your kingdom would come to UCSD in tangible and historical measures, oh God, let it be! i'm asking for the power your Spirit to manifest and transform lives. i'm asking for lives to be turned upside down, in the students, professors, and administration.
i'm asking for you to release a new movement of Your power, where Christians and non-Christians alike will become awakened with fresh hunger and fresh passion to seek your face, oh God. that you may be glorified and your name praised across UCSD. that every tongue and every soul would confess that you are God, that every person stepping on the campus of UCSD would worship Jesus Christ as LORD. i'm asking that every soul on campus would encounter Your love, and submit their lives to your leadership.
we will keep asking, God.
restore our fortunes, O LORD
the spirit of trevail prayer fell upon a few of us in the room. and they began to weep as we began to feel the pain our Father feels when He sees His daughters chase after broken cisterns--things that do not satisfy; that it pains the Father's heart to the point of tears as He watches His daughters struggle to know their inherent beauty, value, and worth because they do not know that they are daughters of the King Most High.
for the past 4 years of praying for UCSD, i haven't seen as much trevail prayer as i have been seeing this year. i don't believe that there is anything that makes trevail prayer "better" or more "powerful" than tear-free prayer, but i do believe something powerful is unleashed when we tap into God's heart to the point when we are moved to tears. i do believe there is power when our hearts are broken for what breaks God's heart, to the point when we are moved to tears.
LORD, break our hearts for what breaks Yours
i was reminded by the psalm i had read the previous night, His promise not only for Zion, but for UCSD as well.
when the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dream.
then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then they said among the nations,
"the LORD has done great things for them."
the LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like streams in the Negeb!
those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
he who goes out weeping bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
bringing his sheaves with him.
Revive 2010: Day 32
12 But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said, 13 "Remember the command that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: 'The LORD your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land.' 14 Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, fully armed, must cross over ahead of your brothers. You are to help your brothers 15 until the LORD gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise."
16 Then they answered Joshua, "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the LORD your God be with you as he was with Moses. 18 Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey your words, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!"
-Joshua 1:10-18
Father, we recognize that You have given each of us a specific place to be and a specific mission even now. Thank You that is isn't by our abilities that You move, but by Your abilities and strength and all we have to do is respond. Father, now would You make us, Your children and Your servants, obedient to You like Joshua. Even if we do not understand Your calls, would we respond and obey in faith because we trust You.
Lord, thank You that You have set UCSD out for us to take on Your behalf. This is a place, a campus, that has already been appointed for You, to be called Your campus. We will take back this place for You, Lord, because You have already set it out for us.
Take away all fear we have in stepping out as Your soldiers, Your warriors, Your lovers for this campus. Thank You that You promise to ALWAYS be with us, and You will do what You have already planned in partnership with us, and all we must do is be strong and courageous. Lord, use us to take back this campus for Your name, for Your glory.
Lord, like You say in Joshua 1 and also Deuteronomy 3:2, You will deliver unto us this land and the people. So today, Father, we ask for the campus of UCSD and all of its people: its students, its professors, and all other workers and affiliates of UCSD, that they might come to know Your love, Your beauty, Your redemption, Your mercy, and Your kindness. Thank You that it is Your will to save each person, God. Help us as Your people to respond to Your call so that the fullness of Your will is done here, Lord, in Your time.
In Jesus's name we pray, Amen
Revive 2010: Day 31
59 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant. 60 Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. 61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger. I will give them to you as daughters, but not on the basis of my covenant with you. 62 So I will establish my covenant with you, and you will know that I am the LORD. 63 Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
-Ezekiel 16:58-63
Father, we come before You today confessing of unfaithfulness to You. We have forsaken You as a campus and as a generation. We have mistreated and abused You. Lord, we recognize Your deep lovingkindness, Your incredible faithfulness, Your delight in mercy, and Your awesome sovereignty. Remind UCSD of Your promise to make atonement for our sins even after our adultery, how You will keep Your promise to save all who call upon Your name.
Lord, release the fear of the Lord upon us once again, that we might come to You knowing the weight of who You are and know Your sovereignty and strength and reality. Father, we understand the gravity that the wages of our sins is death, so we come before You today pleading with You to bring renewal of Your promise to the people of UCSD that we might turn our eyes and ears and hearts back to You.
Revive 2010: Day 30
-John 14:15-21
Father, Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that You have given us a helper, one who will always be with us to give us deep fellowship with You and deep companionship. God, today we pray that You give us a new and deep, transforming touch by the Holy Spirit, knowing that when we are filled by the Holy Spirit both initially and in renewal continually, you give us more of Your love and more revelation by You. So Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill us now with love and power and companionship, as well as a longing and discipline to be obedient to You. Thank You that through this filling of the Holy Spirit, which we can say has happened in faith, You will show us Your heart for the campus and will guide all of our paths for returning hearts to You, revealing Your love and glory, and showing not only us but everyone on campus who You truly are. Soften our hearts and make our spirits more sensitive and patient in waiting upon You and knowing that we never have to operate outside of the presence of You, Lord. Mmm, we love Your presence, Abba. Thank You for capturing our hearts by drawing us in with Your sweet presence, God. Would You release more and more of Your presence all over us and all over UCSD right now, God, and bring a renewal of the presence of the Holy Spirit in us.
In Jesus's name,
Amen
Revive 2010: Day 29
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." 9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."
Revelation 4:2-11
Lord, we thank You that You are beautiful and glorious. We ask now that You would fix our eyes on things above, on the radiance of Your very being. Thank You for the pure joy and love that sets our hearts on fire in worship and praise, like the elders, as we come to discover who You really are.
Abba, we ask to see more of Your glory at UCSD now. We ask that that glory be revealed as we receive greater revelation of who You are. Ruin us to know You more deeply, to cast down all of our crowns: our idols, our lives that we try to preserve, our pride, whatever it is, and see You as You are, in Your radiant and awesome beauty.
Thank You that You do not demand for us to worship You, but You draw us in by Your character and beauty. Lord, open our eyes and ignite our hearts with a new and greater revelation of who You are in truth and power.
revelation 3:20-22
God, we receive your words for the Laodicean church. let your church today be one that is sensitive to your voice, and to what you are doing. God help us realize that your Spirit is waiting to come help us. help us to understand that we cannot "do ministry" as if it was our own project and that you would come alongside to help us, rather that we would come alongside you and the work you are doing on this earth, at UCSD. God, let us not get caught up with ourselves, our agendas and plans, but to set our eyes and ears upon you. let us not get caught up with all the busy "work" at hand, but let us be depending on you, Holy Spirit to be guiding us and leading us.
let us be a people to draw upon your power. let intervarsity be a fellowship that depends on you and you alone--not on our own abilities. give us faith to believe that when we become serious and draw upon your power, you will come. give us the spirit of prophecy, that we would be ones that will lean in close to you to hear what you are saying, and what you desire to be doing. let this year be a year marked by one where your people did not follow their own ministry agendas, but was sensitive to your voice, and listened for your leadership.
as we draw near to you, would you draw near to us. God, as we depend on you, would you show up in even greater measures. we let you in, God. we let you in, Holy Spirit. you are welcome here. come LORD Jesus come.
this year, LORD. not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit. in the name of Jesus amen.
Revelation 3:15-16
Father today i bring before you your church--i bring before you intervarsity--and i'm asking for an awakening to arise in your people. God i'm asking for a holy dissatisfaction to burn among hearts of men and women, that we would be cut to the heart to desire greater intimacy with You and hunger for the knowledge of God. help us not to settle, help us not to be satisfied with where we are at with you. help us to burn with greater yearning fervency to have more of you.
God, help us to live a life where we'd rather die than live a lukewarm life! give us urgency, and stir in our hearts a greater passion for more of you. i'm asking for a spirit of conviction to arise in your church--convict us of the ways we have given you lip service in the place of sacrifice. convict us of the ways we have given you anything short of our all. convict us of the ways we have not given you all our worship, the ways we desire other idols--TV shows, media, popularity in the eyes of man, over you. convict us, God, would we realize how much we have lowered our standards of what we expect from you and how much we depend on you. help us to be a people of the new testament church, ones who called upon your name and where your Spirit came down in power.
God i'm asking for you to revive dead spirits--that spirits dulled by religion and ritual, programs, and our comfort zones would be revived and refreshed by the fresh wind and fresh fire of your Spirit. raise up a people who go to church desiring nothing else but to touch your heart and be touched by you--nothing short.
Jesus Clears the Temple
15 When they arrived back in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people buying and selling animals for sacrifices. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves, 16 and he stopped everyone from using the Temple as a marketplace. 17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”18 When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were so amazed at his teaching.
-mark 11:15-18
Father we thank you for your son Jesus, who reminds us what you spoke through your prophet isaiah:
I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem
and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer.
I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices,
because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.
-isaiah 56:7
Father, as your son Jesus did 2000 years ago, today i come into agreement with your heart and desire, and i am asking that your church at UCSD will once again become first and foremost, a body that prays--that we will be your house of prayer. God i am asking that your church will return back to your original intention and desire. God i'm asking for an aroma to arise from your house once again, one of worship and supplication, a house that calls upon the name of the LORD in desperation.
we thank you for good preaching found in the teaching of your Word, thought-provoking sermons, good speakers, and good music, but God i'm asking that these things will not overshadow your original intent for your house--that your house will remain a place where real heart encounters occur in the place of desperately crying out to you in the place of prayer. God, i'm asking for a genuine need and dependency on you, that we may draw near to you in prayer and touch your heart.
forgive us LORD, for the ways your church has become anything but prayer. forgive us for the ways your temple has become places of showcasing the best worship team, or just a place to run our own ministry programs. forgive us LORD, for the ways your church has failed to remain a place where your people cry out to you in desperation and need for you. forgive us LORD, for the ways church has become anything else other than a place to realize how much we need to depend on you, for you to show up in our lives and in those around us.
without you, LORD, we are nothing. help us to see that statement as no superlative. God, help us to see and realize our need and our depravity without you. help us to realize that we cannot do anything in life, that we cannot live without you. fill us with unction, with fervency, with burning desire to cry out to you in the place of prayer, for the sake of a revival in our own soul and for those around us. come Holy Spirit, send revival to UCSD.
psalm 85
Revive Us Again
1 Lord, you poured out blessings on your land!
You restored the fortunes of Israel.
2 You forgave the guilt of your people—
yes, you covered all their sins.
3 You held back your fury.
You kept back your blazing anger.
4 Now restore us again, O God of our salvation.
Put aside your anger against us once more.
5 Will you be angry with us always?
Will you prolong your wrath to all generations?
6 Won’t you revive us again,
so your people can rejoice in you?
7 Show us your unfailing love, O Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
8 I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying,
for he speaks peace to his faithful people.
But let them not return to their foolish ways.
9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
so our land will be filled with his glory.
10 Unfailing love and truth have met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed!
11 Truth springs up from the earth,
and righteousness smiles down from heaven.
12 Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings.
Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.
13 Righteousness goes as a herald before him,
preparing the way for his steps.
Revival 2010: Day 24
45 When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. 46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."
Father, today we ask for grace from You to be filled with the same fervency and passion that Jesus had as He prayed. Lord, we confess that we as watchmen have fallen asleep. Our disappointments, our failed expectations, our own fears, things that have distracted us all cause us to fall asleep to what is going on, Lord. Will You AWAKEN our spirits, Lord, to see that You are only a stone's throw away from us pleading with the Father. We trust Your faithfulness and we THANK You God, that You have given us the opportunity to pray, that You allow us to cme before Your throne and make our pleas to You, and that You take ear to our cries. Give us deep desire to see You move on the UCSD campus, God. Release a holy dissatisfaction with things as they are now, release compassion that we will not watch passively as our campus remains in its current state, and release insatiable hunger to see Your love and Your glory and the fullness of Your will and spirit come to this campus.
Awaken us from our sleep, God, and we will not be disappointed as we awaken and faithfully walk in the path You have laid out for us. As the ones who love You, Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You and awaken our spirits and ignite our hearts for Your name, that we might pray and take action where You are calling us, knowing that You have so much planned for UCSD, Your campus. Thank You that You want to pour out Your spirit, God, and show us Your glory. Help us to stay close to You so that we will allow You to move freely, God. Thank You that You choose to work through us! Oh Lord, awaken us to You again!
God i'm asking that you will stir up a hunger in intervaristy where people from all different backgrounds and denominations will become desperate to pray. i'm asking for people who don't need need persuasion to attend prayer meetings, but they just show up! God, i'm asking for you to pour out the spirit of intercession, where hundreds of people across intervarsity and different fellowships spontaneously develop a longing for Your presence to the point where they will be willing to rise in the night and sacrifice food just to seek you in prayer. God, such a hunger comes form you alone, so give your people the spirit of intercession! would you humble me, God, that i would understand that i can't make people want to pray. i can only make people feel like they ought to pray or i can tell them that they should pray. God, only you can make people want to pray, so would you move in the hearts of men and women. humble us, God that we would realize that we cannot do anything more on our own strength. humble us from our ministry strategies, our ability to worship, or any other ways we have depended on ourselves and not on you. help us to seek your power, and let us depend on the power of your Spirit alone. give us such a desperation, God.
LORD, raise up watchmen in intervarsity, who will give themselves no rest. raise up men and women of prayer, who will not stay silent until you show up. raise up people who will persevere and petition in the place of prayer until the fullness of your kingdom comes on earth as it is in heaven. raise up people who will contend for the spiritual dominion of UCSD--that you would break through. oh that You would rend the heavens and come down! break through, God. break through! for the sake of souls to be won at UCSD. God, send revival to UCSD in the name of Jesus.
The Valley of Dry Bones
1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know."
4 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' "
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' " 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
ezekiel 37:1-10
LORD God we thank you for the word you spoke to Ezekiel. we thank you for highlighting this passage to intervarsity a year ago, and we come into agreement with it once again. God i'm asking that you will raise up Ezekiels in the intervarsity community this year to prophesy to dry bones. would your Word be in our mouths, and as we speak, would it bring life into dry and dead souls.
Father i'm asking for the intervarsity community to be obedient to your command to prophesy. i'm asking that your people will not take your command lightly, rather, we would be obedient to proclaim your Word--the gospel, to proclaim truth and life into a campus, a generation that is in need of it.
God i'm asking that this year will be marked by one where a spiritually dead campus was revived because your people, by faith, prophesied life into it. i'm asking that our words, actions, and prayers according to your Word will breathe life into dead souls, and reap the greatest harvest to come to UCSD.
let your people breathe life, God. where there is depression, brokenness, suicide, hopelessness, let there be life. let your people walk in the confidence that you have given us, that as we prophesy, through your Word, and your Spirit, we can breathe life the way you breathed life into Adam. thank you for the authority given to us through your Spirit. help us to walk with confidence in the power of the declaration of our word. give us the Spirit of prophecy in Jesus' name.
Jesus' prayer for all believers, john 17:20-23
Father we thank you for the prayers your son Jesus prayed for us, moments before He was arrested and nailed to the cross. God i thank you for the profound love Jesus has for all believers, captured in these prayers, that He would intercede on behalf of every believer in the past, for all of us today, and for years to come.
God i come before you today in agreement with the prayers Jesus prayed for us and the rest of your church today--that you would give us the spirit of unity. God, i'm asking once again for the spirit of unity, that as followers of Jesus we would be ones to value Jesus above all else, more than our differences.
God i bring before you your people, every follower of Jesus at UCSD, every Christian fellowship, and i'm asking that you will unite all of us. God, would we receive the spirit of humility as we set aside our differences, and recognize our common goal--to pursue Jesus. and though that may not mean forming one Christian fellowship on campus, God would we recognize that the desire for unity as lovers of Jesus is one that came from Jesus Himself. teach us to love and respect, serve and honor one another, as brothers and sisters in Christ, even when we disagree on ministry agendas or theology. help us to lean upon each other, and to learn from each other, in complete humility, so that we may stand stronger together.
God i'm asking this year for a spirit of prayer to unite your people. God i'm asking for a movement of unity that begins in the place of prayer--that prayer will bring people from different denominations and experiences together. God i'm asking for a day at UCSD when people from every fellowship, race, ethnicity, denomination will get down on or knees side-by-side in the place of prayer, always remembering that the agenda is ultimately Jesus.
God, give us the spirit of unity. where there is judgment, let there be humility. where there is conflict, let there be understanding. God, above all else, let love abound even more. let love abound.
Father i come today asking for more of the Holy Spirit. i first want thank you God, for the friendship of the Holy Spirit, which gives me intimacy, security, and encouragement. i thank you for the Holy Spirit, which enables me to approach your throne with confidence, to enjoy intimacy with you.
help us to understand God, that as we walk in the Spirit, as you are faithful to your promise to fill us up with the fullness of your Spirit, let your people be ones marked by the fruit of your Spirit. i'm asking God, that your people would be overflowing with the Spirit. God, let there be a distinct difference between your people, filled by the Spirit and others in this world. i'm asking for moments where nonbelievers will notice a distinct difference in your people, because we are ones filled with your Spirit. let your people be ones marked and set apart from the rest of the world, that we would be ones to supernaturally walk in the Spirit--overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
God, let us not just memorize the fruits of your Spirit, and what they are, but give us the grace to walk in them. let us not settle for a life that looks the same as someone who does not know you, God. let us live supernaturally in the Spirit. let us understand what it means to be filled with joy, genuine peace in every circumstance. teach us what it means to respond with love, patience, and kindness in every relationship, regardless of the response we get from others. we need your help, God. we cannot do this on our own. we cannot be something that we are not--on our own strength or willpower. for we recognize our flesh prevents us from fully walking in your Spirit. so help us, God. we need you Holy Spirit. we need your power to walk supernaturally in the fruit of the Spirit.
Father of glory give us the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.
Father, we thank you for the Holy Spirit. God, we thank you for the Spirit that gives us power and authority--thank you God, that you have given us the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. such privilege and authority, we thank you LORD.
God, i'm asking for a desperation for the Holy Spirit to arise in your people. God, help us to understand our need for the Holy Spirit as much as we need air to stay alive. help us to be a people asking for more and more and more. let us not be so easily satisfied, with what you can do and what you have done. God, would you humble us, and allow us to realize that we cannot live without your Spirit. God, help us to be a people that rely on the Spirit in our existence, as well as in our ministry. help us not be a people who become distracted by our own talents or programs, our flesh-driven efforts. God, as your people depend on the Holy Spirit, i'm asking for a move of your Spirit of magnitudes so profound that it was clear that it was possible by the power of your Spirit alone. i'm asking for a move where it was clear that it only occurred because you came through. let us be a people desperate for your power to come through. let us give you our all, God, let us not hold back. we're all in, God. we give our all to you.
He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’ --john 16:7-15
Father of glory we come before you and we continue to ask for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit over UCSD this year. God we are reminded by the word spoken by your son Jesus about the Holy Spirit's ability to convict the world of sin, God's righteousness, and the coming judgment. God i'm asking for the power of your Holy Spirit to convict non-believers at UCSD. would the Holy Spirit bring conviction in non-believers of their sin, and how they have turned their backs to you, and would the power of the Holy Spirit cause a heart transformation to occur, leading to repentance and confession of Jesus Christ as LORD. God i'm asking for a demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit to be made evident, a demonstration of magnitudes like in the days of old, a move that will cause every soul to come face to face with you, and that there would be no doubt that you are the one true God. i'm asking for idolatry, drunkenness, and all sin to flee in the presence of your Holy Spirit. God i'm asking for fraternities, sororities to be overturned, that this year's Sungod would be ruined because so many people were convicted by God's righteousness.
God we acknowledge that the Holy Spirit will bring us into truth. God i'm asking that the Holy Spirit will guide all people to truth--that Jesus Christ would be the model of all truth. would truth not be found in textbooks, professors, or what popular culture tells us. God would your people be rooted and grounded in the truth found in your Word. would we feast on your word and the truth found in it. let your people be ones filled by the Spirit, that we may walk in the Spirit and the truth of our power and authority. let the truth of the power of your Spirit fill your people with confidence. i break off the spirit of timidity and that we would walk in the truth of our inheritance and power given to us by the Holy Spirit. let your people arise as we walk in our inheritance in Jesus' name.
Father of glory, today i am asking for the Holy Spirit. God i'm asking that this will be a year marked by the fingerprints of the Holy Spirit. God i'm asking that your people will be able to recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, to recognize that He is a person living in us and works through us. God i'm asking that your people would begin to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit as a lover, as a counselor, a helper, an advocate, a friend, and a healer.
God i'm asking for the Holy Spirit to come alive within our hearts, that we may be people overflowing with the fruits of the Spirit--love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, that we would be people marked by the Spirit because we are ones that are walking in the Spirit, not in the flesh. God i'm asking that your people would be ones visibly set apart from the rest of the world--that we would be ones who pursue righteousness and holiness, and not to do things to grieve the spirit or to quench His work in us.
God i'm asking for signs and wonders to be demonstrated through the power of the Holy Spirit i'm asking for gifts to be activated--healing, prophecy, wisdom, knowledge; that we as your sons and daughters may recognize the authority given to us by the Spirit. let us be ones to walk in the fullness of the inheritance given to us by the Spirit.
God i'm asking that we would be people who love and submit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit in our lives. that we would be actively engaging with your Spirit, that we would be led by the Spirit, and that our old self and our old thoughts may die and be born again and renewed by the Spirit. let us not submit to worldly thoughts, anxiety, worries, or struggles, but let our minds be renewed daily by the Spirit. give us the grace to open our hearts and our souls for the Spirit to do His work within us--to bring healing, freedom, and restoration.
36 At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. 37 O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”
38 Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench! 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!” 1 kings 18:36-39
God i'm asking for another demonstration of your power today. i'm asking for a clear demonstration of your power through the Holy Spirit at UCSD. God, i'm asking that many hearts will be moved and convicted by your power and truth. God i'm asking for another mighty move of power, that every soul on campus will not be able to deny that you are the one true God. whether it is fire from heaven, signs and wonders, or a movement of profound, spirit-led, radical acts of love, God i'm asking for power to be demonstrated by your people, power that every heart at UCSD would be moved. let there be a repentance of souls, and for souls to be swept into your kingdom.
God i'm asking for another powerful move of your Spirit, that every person would fall to the ground in worship of you as the one true God. send rain, send fire, God send revival to UCSD.
